Sony tv flashing red light 6 times

I read the service manual b/c my sony bravia blinks red light 6 times. It is a back light problem and the main problems acording to the manual are the G board (gl3 board which has the power supply) or the lcd panel itself. The secondary cause, yet less common, is the B board. Those componets can cost alone $150-325. In mine the led strip flickers before the TV shuts off. and blinking the red light.

If a Red LED is blinking, try the troubleshooting procedure below. If the procedure cannot solve the issue and the Red LED is still blinking, check how many times it blinks and then contact support. Turn the TV off and on again using an infrared remote control or the main power button on the TV. Unplug the power cord (mains lead), then plug it back in. Turn the TV off and then disconnect all connected devices from the TV. Update the TV software to the latest version.

The red light flashes when the TV ts trying to change over from standby mode to being on. What happens to the light once it blinks 4 times? Does it go back to solid red or does it go out completely?
